The Ultimate Buns Recipe

Ingredients
- 8 cups sifted flour (1 kg)
- 1 tablespoon salt (½ oz/ 14g)
- 2 tablespoons dry yeast (1 oz/ 28g)
- 4 tablespoons sugar (if you want it sweeter you can put 5 tablespoons) (1 oz/ 25g)
- 3 cups lukewarm water
- 1 cup oil
Instructions
- In a deep bowl, add half the amount of flour with the salt and mix them thoroughly.
- Add the rest of the flour and create an indentation in the middle.
- Put the yeast, sugar, oil, and water into the tiny pit, then knead everything for 10 minutes or more.
- Set the dough aside until it rises, and knead it again for a short while when it does.
- Allow the dough to rise again until it doubles in volume.
- Shape your buns with the cup and make sure that each one weighs about 3–3.5 oz. (90–100 g).
- Let the shaped buns rise again for about 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C), then lightly brush each bun with a mixture of egg wash and water.
- Finish up with a sprinkle of sesame on top.
- Put the baking tray with the buns on the second to lowest rack of the oven and bake until they turn golden.
