But we’ll admit that if you’ve never made one from scratch before, the whole task might seem daunting. It isn’t that challenging, though. We promise.
This strawberry cream Swiss roll recipe will walk you through the steps one by one until you have a perfect dessert ready to go!

Festive Strawberry Cream Swiss Roll
Equipment
Ingredients
Cake:
- 3 large eggs
- A pinch of salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ¾ cup flour
- ½ tsp. baking powder
Filling:
- ½ jar strawberry jam (about 170 g)
- 1½ cups heavy cream (375 ml)
- 2 tsp. confectioner’s sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
Instructions
Cake:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Line the medium-sized cookie sheet with parchment paper and oil it lightly.
- In a bowl, mix eggs with a pinch of salt and beat until you create a thick, white foam.
- Pour the sugar into the same bowl gradually while beating continuously.
- Add the flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well to form a batter.
- Pour the batter into the lined cookie sheet and spread it around evenly.
- Bake the batter for 7 minutes or so.
- Roll the cake in a kitchen towel and set it aside to cool down.
Filling:
- Using an electric mixer, whip the heavy cream, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla until everything is homogeneous and firm.
- Scoop strawberry jam and spread it over the cooled cake.
- Spread the whipped heavy cream into an even layer over the jam.
- Roll up the cake tightly.
Tips
- To make the rolling task easier, use the parchment paper to lift the cake’s edge and guide that first crease with your fingers on either side of the cake.
- If you have some fresh strawberries, chop them into slices and use them on top of the roll. Add some whipped cream and confectioner’s sugar for extra pizzazz!
