Pasta pie, also known as “timballo” or “pasticcio di pasta” in Italian, is a traditional Italian dish that combines pasta, sauce, and various fillings baked in a pie-like form.
But here at Sharethecook we like to keep thing simple, so let’s keep things simple and skip the fancy Italian names and call it a pasta pie recipe.
All you have to do is cook the pasta, toss everything in a bowl, mix, and bake! Easy peasy!

Sure, you can skip them, but they do add moisture and a luscious texture to the pie.

Pasta Pie Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 package pasta (any favorite type)
- 9 oz. cottage cheese (250 g)
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- ½ cup grated feta cheese
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 1 tsp. dried crushed chili
- ½ tsp. ground nutmeg
- Salt (to taste)
- ½ butter stick (diced small)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta and strain.
- In a bowl, thoroughly mix the remaining ingredients.
- Place the cooked pasta in a baking pan and pour the mixture over it.
- Bake at 350°F (180°C) for approximately 40 minutes.
- Sprinkle diced butter on top to melt during baking.
