- 14 oz. chicken breast (cut into strips) ( 400 g)
Chinese lemon chicken recipe Tempura:
- ½ cup self-rising flour (2 ¼ oz/ 63g)
- ¼ cup cornstarch (or 2 teaspoons baking powder 10g, or ½ teaspoon baking soda)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- A pinch of black pepper
- ¾ cup cold water
Chinese lemon chicken recipe Sauce:
- 1 cup sweet chili
- Juice from 1 lemon
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 tablespoons water
Instructions

- Bring a small pot and put it over medium heat
- Add the sauce ingredients to the pot and mix them well
- Lower the heat beneath it, and let it simmer until the sauce is thick and gooey

- Bring a large bowl and fill it with ice
- Place a smaller metal bowl inside
- Add the tempura ingredients to that bowl
- Mix them until well combined (the batter shouldn’t be too runny)
- Dip the chicken strips into the batter
- Deep fry the coated chicken strips in hot oil until golden and frothy
- Now that you have the chicken fried and the sauce ready, pour the sauce over the fried chicken strips. Then, mix until the chicken strips get evenly and completely coated.
