Legendary Pizza Dough Recipe

The art of mastering pizza dough isn’t simple. However, with the help of a great recipe and a bit of training, the results can be extraordinary.
Although it’s an easier option to buy ready-made pizza dough, it’s hard to have the same experience the delicious homemade crust provides.
So, next time you crave a cheesy slice of pizza, take the time to try this recipe. Once you give it a go, especially with your favorite toppings, you can never go back.

Equipment
Ingredients
Dough:
- 1 lb. all-purpose flour (sifted (500 g))
- 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1¼ cups lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
Sauce:
- 2 tomatoes (grated)
- 2 small cans of tomato paste
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon pizza seasoning (if you don’t have it, you can use oregano or dry basil)
- Some salt
- 3-4 tablespoons olive oil
Topping:
- Shredded cheese
- Your favorite toppings
Instructions
Dough:
- Dissolve the dry yeast and sugar in a quarter cup of warm water
- Stir and allow to sit for at least five minutes until the mixture begins to bubble
- Mix all the dough ingredients using the food processor except for the salt (add it at the end)
- Lightly dust some flour over your working surface
- Knead the dough for approximately five minutes
- Keep kneading until the dough bounces back when you poke it with your finger
- Transfer the dough to a greased large bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel
- Allow the dough to rise for about 40 minutes at room temperature
Sauce:
- Sautee the minced garlic with the olive oil in a medium pot
- Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until it starts bubbling
- Let simmer over low heat for five minutes
- Season to taste
Assembly and Baking:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Flatten the dough over a floured surface
- Spread the sauce all over it
- Add your preferred toppings
- Top it with a generous amount of shredded cheese
- Bake for about 20 minutes until golden and crispy
