Homemade Pita Bread No Yeast
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. flour (1 kg)
- 2 tbsp. dry yeast
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1 tbsp. sugar
- 6 tbsp. olive oil
- 1½ cups warm water
Instructions
- Mix all the ingredients and knead them into a dough. Then, let it rise for an hour.
- Divide the dough into smaller bits and form them into balls, then put them on a floured work surface.
- Allow the balls to rest for 15 minutes, then roll them out into pita shapes using a rolling pin. Make sure not to roll them out too thin because they’ll buff up in the oven.
- Move the pitas into a baking pan lined with parchment paper, and let them rest for 10 minutes.
- Bake the pitas at 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes until they puff up and change their color.
