Flourless Chocolate Orange Cake
Did you pour cold heavy cream at the end?
Yes, we poured cold heavy cream on the baked cake to add a bit of moisture.
How much cream should I use for the pour?
It’s all up to you. You can eyeball it for the most part. Plus, it’s possible to skip this step altogether if your cake is moist enough as-is.
I’m not the biggest fan of sweeteners. Is there a way to reduce the portion a bit?
Yes! You could reduce the sweetener portion and use a chocolate milk mix to keep the flavor balanced.

Flourless Chocolate Orange Cake Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 3 oz. chocolate 90% and up (90 g)
- 2 tbsp. natural cocoa powder
- 5 tbsp. sweetener (thinly ground)
- 2 tbsp. chocolate instant pudding mix
- ¾ fl. oz. water (20 ml)
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- ¾ oz. butter (20 g)
- 2 tbsp. shredded coconut
- Zest from 1 orange
- 2 tbsp. heavy cream
- 1 tbsp. gluten-free baking powder
Instructions
- In a bowl, melt the chocolate and butter with sweetener and heavy cream.
- Add all the remaining ingredients (except the orange zest) to the same bowl.
- Mix everything well until the cake batter is homogenous.
- Grab your loaf pan, oil it, and pour the batter into it.
- Sprinkle the zest on top.
- Pop the pan into the oven and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35 minutes.
- Don’t slice the cake until it’s completely cooled down.
Tips
- If the cake feels dry, pour some heavy cream over it.
- One day later, the cake is still going to be delicious, but we recommend heating it up in the microwave for the best results.
- Keep in mind that the orange zest is the dominant part of the flavor profile. If you’d rather have dark chocolate as the star of the show, opt for a different recipe with ganache.
