Frequently Asked Questions:
Easy Yeast Rolls For Beginners
If i only need half a batch, should i just use half the amount of ingredients?
Yes, you can easily halve the amounts in the recipe to make a smaller batch.
What should i do if I don’t have any cornstarch?
No worries, you can still make the rolls without cornstarch.
What does the cornstarch do to the dough?
The addition of cornstarch gives a soft texture to the rolls.
It’s my first time using cornstarch, and the rolls came out softer than usual.
Isn’t 5 hours of rising a lot?
In colder temperatures, like during winter, the dough takes longer to rise. Even with proper wrapping, it may take several hours to double in volume.

Easy Yeast Rolls For Beginners
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. flour (1 kg)
- 2 tbsp. yeast
- ½ cup oil
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2½ cups water (the amount depends on the flour, add as much water as needed)
Instructions
- Place all the ingredients in the mixer bowl and start kneading. Add the salt towards the end of the process.
- Knead in the mixer for approximately 8 minutes until the dough is smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise for an extended period of time. In colder temperatures, like during winter, it may take longer (in my case, it took around 5 hours), while in warmer weather, it will rise faster.
- Shape the dough into individual rolls and let them rise again until they increase in size.
- Brush the rolls with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and texture.
- Bake the rolls at 350°F (180°C) for approximately 20 minutes until they turn golden brown
