Why this Easy Cheese And Onion Pie is A MUST-try:

Ingredients
- 5 large onions (chopped)
- 5 eggs
- 8 fl. oz. heavy cream (250 ml)
- ¾ cup self-rising flour
- 2½ tbsp. cornstarch
- 3½ oz. shredded mozzarella (100 g)
- 3½ oz. shredded kashkaval cheese (100 g)
- 3½ oz. feta cheese crumbs (100 g)
- A handful of basil leaves
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- 3-4 thyme sprigs (leaves only)
- 1½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. black pepper
- 2 oz. shredded mozzarella (50 g – for topping (optional))
Instructions
- In a pan, heat some oil and place the chopped onions until they turn slightly golden.
- Take them out of the pan and allow them to cool.
- Beat all the ingredients in a bowl until the batter is smooth and soft—make sure there aren’t any lumps!
- Once done, add the fried onions to the batter and mix again.
- Oil your round baking dish well—whether glass or aluminum—and pour the batter into it.
- Preheat the oven at 350°F (180°C).
- Place the pie in the oven for about 25 minutes or until it’s golden.
- If you’re unsure the pie is finished, poke it with a toothpick. If it comes out dry, then take your pie out and enjoy a slice!
