Whether you eat them as a wholesome breakfast, a luscious dessert, or a midday snack, French crepes are to die for.
This classic French dish takes you all the way to the heart of Paris. It’s basically the French version of pancakes and is equally as delicious.
What’s great about French crepes is their versatility.
You can make them sweet, filled with whipped cream, and topped with fresh fruit or chocolate syrup. You can also make them savory with eggs, and cheese.

Classic French Crepe Recipe

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp. water
- 1 tbsp. oil
- 2½ tsp. vanilla sugar (10 g)
- 2 tbsp. sugar
Instructions
- Put the flour in a large mixing bowl
- Add the milk, eggs, water, oil, vanilla sugar, and sugar to the flour
- Mix them with a hand whisk until you have a smooth batter
- Make sure the batter has no clumps
- Heat the wide frying pan over medium-high heat, and add a bit of butter or oil
- Pour a suitable amount of the batter onto the frying pan
- Spread the batter evenly using the back of a spoon (you can also rotate the frying pan to distribute the batter if it’s runny enough)
- Wait for less than a minute until the bottom gets dark
- Use a spatula to flip the crepes on the other side
- Wait for another half a minute, and it’s ready
- Fry the rest of the batter the same way till you end up with a stack of crepes
- Top or stuff each crepe with your favorite ingredients and dust with powdered sugar
- Serve and enjoy
