Churros With Cinnamon Sugar Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 stick butter / butter-flavored substitute (100 g)
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 cup flour
- 3 eggs
- Oil
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
Instructions
- In a small pot, add the water, butter, sugar, and salt.
- Place the pot on the stove and bring the mixture to a boil.
- While boiling, add the flour and mix on the stove for 30 seconds using a wooden spoon.
- Mix until all the ingredients combine into a dough with a smooth texture that doesn’t stick to the sides of the pot.
- Transfer the dough to a mixer bowl.
- Slightly mix the dough so it cools down a bit.
- Add the 3 eggs one by one, mixing well after each egg until fully combined with the dough.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag with a star tip (we recommended using a thick tip, but you can also use a thinner one if you want to make more -yet thinner- churros).
- Pipe the dough directly into hot oil, cutting with a knife or scissors at the desired length.
- Lower the flame a little so the churros cook well all the way to the center.
- Take the churros out onto paper towels to drain excess oil.
- In a bowl, mix some sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the churros while still hot in the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- You can fill the churros with dulce de leche or dip them in melted chocolate.
