Chocolate Yeast Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Dough:
- 2 lbs. flour (1 kg)
- 2 tbsp. dry yeast
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1½ tbsp. vanilla sugar (20 g)
- 1¾ sticks butter-flavored substitute (soft (200 g))
- A pinch of salt
- 2 cups lukewarm water
Filling:
- Nutella / chocolate spread with halva crumbs/poppy seed filling/date spread/any desired filling
Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- Juice from ½ lemon
Instructions
- Put all dough ingredients in a large bowl and knead them well using your hands. Then, put the bowl aside and let it rest for an hour.
- When the hour is over, knead the dough again to release the air, then fill it with your favorite filling and form the twisted shape. (Explained in the FAQs section)
- Let the dough rest for 15 minutes, then brush it with some beaten eggs.
- Preheat the oven to 340°F (170°C), then bake the cake for half an hour, or until it’s golden.
- To make the syrup, put all its ingredients in a pot, then boil it on the stove.
- When it’s done, pour it on the cake while it’s hot, and serve!
