Chocolate Chip Cake Recipe
Equipment
Ingredients
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs (size L)
- ½ cup oil
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1½ cups self-rising flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- Confectioner’s sugar for decoration
Instructions
- First, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a bowl, beat the eggs, sugar, and oil until a smooth batter forms.
- Next, add the milk and vanilla extract and mix well.
- Gradually add the flour into the batter, and mix until there are no flour lumps. However, avoid overmixing.
- Add ¾ cup of chocolate chips and fold them into the batter.
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper and pour the cake batter into it.
- Top the batter with the rest of the chocolate chips.
- Bake for about 40 minutes or until you insert a toothpick into the cake and it comes out clean!
Tips
- The chocolate chips can sink to the bottom of the batter. To avoid this, mix them thoroughly with a teaspoon of flour.
- If you’re lactose intolerant, our chocolate chip cake can also be dairy-free. Replace the milk with soy milk, Rich’s whipped topping, or even orange juice!
