Indulgent Chocolate Cake Recipe With Self Rising Flour

Equipment

Medium-sized aluminum baking pan or 10” round baking pan (26 cm)

Ingredients

Cake:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2¼ tsp. baking powder (10 g)
  • 1¼ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup chocolate milk mix
  • 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
  • 1 cup oil
  • 5 eggs (unseparated)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (125 ml)

Coating:

  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 bars of desired chocolate

Instructions

Cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, chocolate milk mix, and cacao powder in a large bowl.
  • Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Beat the eggs, oil, and heavy cream in another bowl until the eggs disappear.
  • Add the wet ingredients mix to the dry ingredients bowl.
  • Mix everything fast with a spoon until you have a smooth batter.
  • Oil a medium-sized aluminum baking pan or a 10” (26 cm) round baking pan.
  • Pour the cake batter into the pan.
  • Bake it in the oven for about 35 minutes (or until the toothpick comes out clean).

Coating:

  • Break the two bars of chocolate into a medium saucepan.
  • Add the heavy cream over the chocolate.
  • Melt the chocolate into the heavy cream over a low flame (you can use the microwave to do that in 30-second intervals, with stirring in between).
  • Turn off the heat after it completely melts, and allow it to cool for five minutes.
  • Pour the chocolate coating over the cake.
  • Garnish the cake with sprinkles, shredded coconut, or anything else you’d like (optional).
  • Slice, serve, and enjoy!
