Indulgent Chocolate Cake Recipe With Self Rising Flour
Equipment
Ingredients
Cake:
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2¼ tsp. baking powder (10 g)
- 1¼ cup sugar
- ¾ cup chocolate milk mix
- 2 tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 cup oil
- 5 eggs (unseparated)
- ½ cup heavy cream (125 ml)
Coating:
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 bars of desired chocolate
Instructions
Cake:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, chocolate milk mix, and cacao powder in a large bowl.
- Mix well until everything is combined.
- Beat the eggs, oil, and heavy cream in another bowl until the eggs disappear.
- Add the wet ingredients mix to the dry ingredients bowl.
- Mix everything fast with a spoon until you have a smooth batter.
- Oil a medium-sized aluminum baking pan or a 10” (26 cm) round baking pan.
- Pour the cake batter into the pan.
- Bake it in the oven for about 35 minutes (or until the toothpick comes out clean).
Coating:
- Break the two bars of chocolate into a medium saucepan.
- Add the heavy cream over the chocolate.
- Melt the chocolate into the heavy cream over a low flame (you can use the microwave to do that in 30-second intervals, with stirring in between).
- Turn off the heat after it completely melts, and allow it to cool for five minutes.
- Pour the chocolate coating over the cake.
- Garnish the cake with sprinkles, shredded coconut, or anything else you’d like (optional).
- Slice, serve, and enjoy!
