Ingredients
- 1¾ sticks margarine (200 g)
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 yolks
- 2 tbsp. dry yeast
- 1 cup room-temperature water
- ¾ cup sugar
- 2 lbs. flour (1 kg)
- 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
- Nutella chocolate spread
- Walnuts
Glaze:
- ¾ cup sugar
- ¾ cup water
- Some freshly squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
- Place the margarine in a bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Make sure the bowl is microwave-safe.
- Add the melted margarine to a cup of boiling water along with two egg yolks, and mix the ingredients well.
- Place the flour, sugar, room-temperature water, vanilla extract, and yeast in a mixer bowl and start mixing.
- Add the melted margarine and egg yolk mix into the mixer bowl. Proceed to knead the dough until evenly combined.
- Apply plastic wrap to the dough and cover it with a dry kitchen towel. Then, give the dough time to rise.
- Next, divide the dough into eight equal parts.
- For each part of the dough, roll it out into a thin sheet, spread Nutella chocolate over it, roll it up, and set it aside.
- Twist each pair of rolls together into one cake and place them on a cookie sheet.
- Brush each cake with beaten eggs and preheat your oven to 350℉ (180℃) and convection bake for around 20-30 minutes.
- In the meantime, mix the glaze ingredients in a small pot and cook them for 10-15 minutes.
- After you’re done baking, apply the glaze to the cake.
