Fish can be a little intimidating for some home cooks. It’s not fun to feel like you risk undercooking the fish or drying it out, that’s why some people just avoid it.
Well, that’s a shame! Fish fillets are a great source of lean protein that works for people on a diet or with many dietary restrictions.

healthy baked tilapia fish recipes
Ingredients
- 6 fresh tilapia fillets
- ½ lemon (squeezed)
- ⅓ bushel of parsley (chopped)
- 5 garlic cloves (minced)
- 6 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
- Rinse the tilapia fillets and pat them dry using a kitchen paper towel.
- In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the marinade and whisk them thoroughly.
- In the same bowl or in the baking dish you’ll cook the fish in, add the tilapia to the marinade and cover it completely.
- Allow the fish to marinate for at least 30 minutes at room temperature or an hour in the fridge.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Place the fish fillets in a single layer in your baking dish and make sure they’re not touching.
- Cover the whole thing with parchment paper to allow the steam to cook the fish on the inside.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until almost cooked through and flaky.
- Remove the parchment and bake for another 5-10 minutes, this should allow the surface of the fish to brown and get all golden and delicious.
- Make sure not to overcook the fish (leave it in the oven for more than 30 minutes) so the fish doesn’t dry out and become mealy.
